Emerald
Golf & Country Resort
The Emerald Resort is situated in a small township known
as Emerald, some 40km south east of Melbourne's CBD. Located
within the Dandenongs, which contain over 250,000ha of national
parks and numerous tourist attractions.
Amongst the major tourist attractions are the National Rhododendron
Gardens, Sherbrook Forest, and Puffing Billy Railways. Apart
from these attractions, there are numerous stately homes
and gardens such as Mawarra, Burnham Beeches, Alfred Nicholas
Memorial Gardens and Pirianda.

setting that The Emerald Resort is located. Reached by a
pleasant drive through magnificent scenery from Melbourne
within the desired 45 minutes. The temperate and invigorating
climate provides Melbournians with a breath of fresh air
together with the atmosphere of the
mountains, as popular today as it was earlier this century
when the original development

Nested in the heart of the magnificent Dandenong Ranges, The Emerald
Golf & Country Resort can quite rightly lay claim to being one
of the most picturesque and aesthetically pleasing golf courses
in Victoria.

The Emerald Golf & Country Resort has its genesis in the vision
and foresight of two Melbourne businessmen, Bert S. Stillwell and
Harry W. Treganowan. In 1923, the pair conceived the idea of establishing
a country golf club that would serve as an attractive and exclusive
retreat for city businessmen.
